Quilt Cards

I updated the "mail to" list for the first three months to include Rebecca. SO everyone check it again, because your assignments will be different.

Right now I'm not going to join in, but hopefully if life quiets down I would love to! Also, Mary is curious about any themes for the next 3 months.

And it's been great getting all those postcards from all of you this past year. But now it's time to start working on January so I thought I'd get the list started. Kelly and her girls, Kara & Samantha are going to participate this year. I sent out an e-mail with mailing addresses today to all of you.

Got my December cards done and in the mail on Friday.

I had plans for some other more elaborate ones but in the end I decided to make them all variations on a theme -- selvages from the Christmas fabric I am using for my Applecore quilt and my red and green buttons. They're in the mailbox and will be picked up tomorrow so one more thing checked off my list.

A card arrived from Mom today -- I was surprised but it's really cute! It's the same Ghost and pumpkin theme as the other card I posted for her.

I'll be mailing mine out this week before I leave.

This one was from Nancy to Mom for September.

Mine is late for September, but I finished it this morning and it went out today.

At any rate, these two are done and ready for mailing. As usual, there's a dud that I intended to send to Mom but had them flipped over on the desk to address them and got them mixed up. So Nancy gets one and Mom gets one and you'll just have to figure out which one is the dud!

Mom, your postcard arrived a few days ago, I really miss not being able to email you. Can't wait to get your computer emailing again!

I'm definitely planning on coming the 16th and will probably fly home the 21st. Keith and I are planning to go to Boston the weekend of the 24th and he'll stay the next week up there while I fly home.

I wanted to make some Yo Yo's and try out a design I'd seen in a magazine so I'm already done with my August card....and no, I didn't follow the theme for the month.

All about postcards

I don't have another sewing machine but I couldn't resist making another version for this month's challenge...wonder where it will end up?

Mom and I found the sewing machines and measuring tape last week at Joann's and when she posted her card I thought it was SO cute and hoped mine would look as good.

I don't like applique so I didn't want to stitch those letters down but had the bright idea to hand sew a running stitch down them with perle cotton. The idea to use buttons came last night while I was trying to sleep. I'm happy with this one!

Very cute cards Mom -- and so were the ones you made for Ann, Maureen, and me. I'll get mine posted later this week after I get settled back in after being gone so much the last couple weeks.

I've been going crazy with the new die cut machine - these are fun and easy when done with the felt. Wow, that's 5 I've made this month -- I must be avoiding other work like the stack of quilts I need to bind -- I've got the 3rd on 9 in progress but I keep taking time out to make postcards.

OK Rebecca, sorry you can play with us, but, if you decide you can in the future just let us know.

Ashley and I finally finished our March cards. Ashley will be sending her card to Mary this month instead of Rebecca. Rebecca does not have any time to work on making cards right now. Please don't include her next month. Thanks, Mary

I had Nancy's name this month and this was my *green* card for her.
This was a reject -- after telling Ann to *press not iron* these little crystals, I messed up the first one so I sent it to her to show we all mess up!

My second effort turned out just fine and it went to Adam for his birthday.

Two came in today's mail!  This one from Mother.And this one from Mary.  Thank you both!   I love them!

And then I finished up my March cards and got them in the mail.  Here a few before I finished the edges.  I cut the flowers and leaves from wool with my new die cutter!  I am loving that machine.

The mail lady brought another wonderful surprize today!  This card from Mother.  I love it Mother!  This looks similar to an idea in a book I bought a couple  months ago....really good use of both the idea and the fabric.   Thank you!

Well, I'm finally home after being gone about 2 weeks. I don't count last Thursday because all I got accomplished was unpacking, laundry, and packing for Chicago.

Mom, I love your cards -- the addition of the ribbon on the shamrocks you were working on when I was there is really cute.

Deb, your Feb card is pretty and I'm looking forward to getting both my January card and the one from the MQR exchange.

Now, I need to get to work on my March card!

Well it's a great technique and a very pretty card, Ann.  And you are very welcome for the fabric.   Now that I am cutting way back on customer quilting, I'll have more time to dye more fabrics to share.....once I get caught up that is.
